Walter keeps asking us to write down our 10 year goal and how we will get there. I for one have really struggled with this, so I’m asking everyone to approach this from a different direction with me. Everything else aside, don’t think about your job, money or anything else that could possibly hold you back, what would you be doing in 10 years that would make you happy? Would you retire? Would you be debt free? Have moved somewhere different (i.e. the mountains or the beach)? What is your wildest dream for what your ideal life looks like? Step one is to figure out what that is. I have had a hard time envisioning what that is for me. I’m scared to say out loud what that is because I’m scared of what others will think. I’m scared that if I say it out loud and stumble along the way that others will judge me or label me as a failure. I just started my business less than a year ago; I have a two year old; I’ve only been married 3 years. There are so many things that could change my trajectory for the next ten years that it’s overwhelming. We all have to start somewhere and none of us should let those factors stop us from dreaming. I’m always open to guidance from those who are willing to give it, but I would love to talk with anyone that’s struggling with the same obstacles so that we can work through this together and hold each other accountable. If you’re stuck in the same rut as me, please send me an email – I would love someone to work through this with me – Shelby@RVAOfficeSub.com
