You’re on your own now. Sometimes, all alone. While that may be one of the biggest benefits of entrepreneur-ism, it can also be a burden. We touched on the “S”upport in S.A.F.E. last week and the value of that but what happens when you are struggling to stay on track and there is no one there to help you? That’s where the “A”ccountability in S.A.F.E. comes into play.
I used to hide it when I was struggling to stay focused, I thought I could handle it myself. While at times I can, I greatly appreciate now having peers to help me. Of course, they can’t help me if I don’t open up and share with them. I have learned that when I do open up in the right room, a room with my peers, I’m not judged but instead the response is normally one of empathy and understanding. Most of the people at the table have been through or are going through the same things.
It may be uncomfortable at first, start with something small, but make a commitment to do it. We’ll help you and you’ll be more successful for doing so.
