I don’t know if it’s a curse or a gift but I tend to question just about everything.
When I was younger it cost me a lot of grief in school and then it cost me a lot of jobs. I would question too much and usually discover too much and I didn’t know how to keep my mouth shut.
In business I think it helped me a lot. It helped me come to the realization that the majority of businesses are all failing and the majority of people in business are taking advice from and doing the exact same things as people who have already or who are also failing. It’s a sad picture when you look at it.
I spent a few years dabbling in politics and the constant questioning of why someone would do this or say that helped me learn just how corrupt and power driven it is and although it caused me to step away it helped in having a better picture of what’s going on.
In life I think it helped me the most. There was definitely a period in which I got caught up in the pursuit of the commercialized version of the American Dream and had constant visions of buying all the cool stuff.
Do you ever pause and ask yourself why? Why are they pushing this? Why would they tell me that? How come they are doing it that way? Who is going to benefit the most from this? Are they telling me the whole story?
Just a short random tidbit to get you thinking…. and asking more questions 🙂
Have a fantastic couple of weeks.
