It’s the beginning of the third quarter of 2023!
Are you looking back and reflecting on all that you have done this year or are you instead thinking about all that you haven’t done and all that you wish you were doing?
It’s not too late. It’s never too late.
Have you ever noticed how much easier it is to follow through with something once you are obligated versus following through on something that you simply “wish” would happen?
Been thinking about that trip or adventure? Schedule it, make the reservation and start paying for it. I used to always think about vacations and talk about “when I have the money” and “when I have the time” what I was going to do. Now, I have trips booked out as far ahead as two years and I’ve already started paying on them. If I back out now I’m going to lose that money. When the time comes around to having to make the trip, I never have the time but somehow always seem to figure it out.
Accountability is another great tool I use. I’m not putting it out there publicly this time but I am once again planning the Appalachian trail hike next year. I have put it on the calendar, I am planning and making preparations for it and I have told people close to me to hold me accountable and don’t let me back out. This is a big one full of potential reasons to not follow through but now I’d be looking like a slacker if I don’t do it. This method has helped me a lot in business goals.
Another technique I’ve used for the big ones is to break them down into smaller ones along the way. It’s much harder to do something like “open my new business in May 2024” than it is to “create a business plan in August 2023”. Make sense?
I want to help you. What are the big things on your list? Let’s get together and make them happen.
If you’re thinking about it, DON’T WAIT. Do something right now. Call someone to help you, put it on your calendar, let others know. Take action and keep me posted on your results.
Have a fantastic week.
