Well 2023 isn’t off to the start I would like. I spent the whole week Michele was gone working even more on the house flip and of course didn’t get nearly as far as I’d hoped. I have other commitments that I should have already been taking care of, the money situation isn’t looking good and there just isn’t enough time for everyone who needs my time.
We have all been there before, right. So how do you deal with times like these?
For me, this has happened so many times that it doesn’t hit me at all like it used to. I just know that if I continue to get up each morning and keep working on this house, it will get finished, I will move on to other things, I will get back on track financially and in the end, I will have learned even more that will help me later. Yep, it really is that easy.
I could whine, post my woes on social media, look for easier ways out, walk away, make excuses, find things to blame it on or just quit. Nope, I’ve come too far to ruin everything else I have done. I have made a career out of turning chicken shit into chicken soup and I will come out of this better than before.
There are a lot of little snippets I reflect on during times like this, here’s a couple of them;
“It’s not what happens to you but how you react to it that matters”
“It doesn’t matter how many times you get knocked down. All that matters is that you get up one more time than you were knocked down.”
“Falling down is how we grow. Staying down is how we die.”
“Tough times never last but tough people do.”
“You have to get hurt. That’s how you learn. The strongest people out there – the ones who laugh the hardest with a genuine smile, those are the people who have fought the toughest battles. Because they’ve decided they’re not going to let anything hold them down, they’re showing the world who’s the boss.”
