What a week! I had the opportunity to play in a golf tournament with a bunch of Marines in support of the Families of the Wounded. The weather was great, the course was in good condition, comradery and a great cause.
I was able to attend three WAM! meetings and came away with not only great feedback and ideas but the support I received really helped keep me motivated and re-energized me a bit.
Wednesday a friend and I headed out in the wee hours of the morning to the mountains of Southwest Virginia. We stopped first at Hungry Mother state park in Marion to plan a future trip on our way to Devil’s Bathtub in Duffield. There is an option to hike the shortcut of about 1.5 miles or you can conquer the entire loop which is about 8.5 miles. We took the long way and it was quite the adventure. The trail was full of adventure and the waterfall and pools did not disappoint. I would recommend to anyone to visit, the hiking isn’t too bad if you take the shortcut but be warned that the entire loop is a pretty serious hike.
Most of Friday was working on helping a client with a new sales plan and a nice visit with my father.
On Saturday I was able to get out the mud bog at Curles Neck Farm in Varina. This was a good old fashioned mud bog with a variety of local amateurs as well as professionals all just bogging for the fun of it. At the same time, I was able to connect with a lot of different friends. I forgot how much fun these were.
Sunday began with a Team Adrenaline workout followed by a client meeting, a little work online and then a nice dinner and movie with my wife.
This week will be filled with a lot of preparation for the upcoming WAM! Charity Golf Classic, a big bike ride, more golf and more time with my dad. What are you doing this week? Whatever it is, make sure you are taking time for yourself, family, relationships and your future.
