Half of 2023 is gone! Did you accomplish and enjoy as much of it as you planned? You got six months left to fix that š
Itās hot out there but Iām not complaining. Every time I think about it being too hot I just remind myself of how much I absolutely canāt stand the cold. Iāve been out in this everyday and starting to get used to it.
My week began exciting but a little stressful. We got an offer on the flip house, thatās the exciting part, and then we got an email Sunday night that the inspection would be taking place on Tuesday afternoon. I wasnāt ready for that! I scrambled Sunday night looking for help, got two friends to help and was able to knock out my punch list of last minute items, got all my stuff out of the garage and got new gravel in the driveways. I was literally sweeping out the garage when the inspection began.
The stress really accumulated when I stopped back later only to find the inspector, realtor and two more vehicles still there over three hours later. Oh crap, what did they find that requires all of that attention. To top it off, we got a call on Wednesday that they were sending out another inspector on Thursday. Iām downright scared at this point.
Once again, Iām learning that you shouldnāt stress over things until you have all of the information. It turns out all of the commotion was over a bird’s nest in the chimney. A little more dramatic than that, the nest of a federally protected bird. They canāt move the nest until after the birds migrate south for the winter. The new buyer is apparently ok with this and wasnāt planning on using the fireplace anyway. What a scare though!
Michele and I were able to spend a little more time together this week. We had dinner together at Mission BBQ on Monday, Potros on Thursday, Kitchen 33 on Saturday and then spent most of the day together at a friends pool party on Sunday.
Tuesdayās pool league night was a frustrating one for me. Going into with an undefeated record I was hoping that one more win might finally move me up a handicap rating. I won the lag, was shooting great and won the first two games. My opponent was a lower rank but a very seasoned player and began playing defensive shot after defensive shot and she won the third game. The fourth game was a close one but I took it. I made one on the break and ran five balls and thought I was good until my opponent stepped and ran eight balls straight to win that one too. Now both of us were āon the hillā and this was the tie breaker. She played smart with multiple defensive shots and beat me. I love the competition and love even more that I got beat by a lower handicap player effectively using defensive shots, I love doing that myself, but I really want to move up a rank. Back to the drawing board.
Scott and I showed up to golf on Wednesday evening thinking we were just playing for fun and attending the banquet only to find out that even though we lost the previous week we were still in the playoffs battling for third place. We had the best match we have ever played together and we got out third place prize, $25 each. Lol It was great. Iām taking a break and not playing the summer league but look forward to doing it again in the fall.
The rest of the week was spent talking with three new prospective coaching clients, one of which I am really excited about working with, starting another smaller project refurbishing a deck, shooting more pool with a friend Friday night and setting up the Purple Heart Truck at Busch Gardens Sunday morning for Military Appreciation week.
I love that I think I had about four hours this entire week to just sit on the couch not doing anything. I am enjoying life!
Want to enjoy life with me? Letās go fishing, golfing, hiking or shooting some pool. I really want to find more people that want to go tent camping or on cruises with me. I need to make a few more quick trips to Myrtle Beach this year too. Email, text or call me and letās get it on the calendar. Life is too short, letās have some fun.
