I hope all you dads out there had a good Father’s Day. This one was my first one without my dad but it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. In making a post on Facebook I went through several pictures of times I spent with dad. I am really really thankful that I was able to sell my business in 2016 and have the time I had over the past 8 plus years to spend with him. I realized last night while talking with Michele that I think I was able to do more with him during this time period than the previous 30+ years.
Last Tuesday began with another great WAM meeting followed by a little work on a friends house and then pool league. I had a great moment there when a guy from the opposing team challenged me to play him telling that he had my number. I beat him four games to zero!
Wednesday was errand day and after running all over I went to golf league for our first night of playoffs and Scott and I had a good night and won our first round.
Thursday I stained the deck, my first time doing this with a transparent stain, and it turned out fantastic. The stain matches the new wooden door I previously installed.
Friday I headed down to Twin Rivers Campground in Crumpler North Carolina to meet some friends for a little camping trip. We stayed in their “primitive” section of the campgrounds and it was amazing. They have a whole row of campsites with woods on one side and river on the other. I set up my tent not more than 3 feet from the water with my door facing the water. We spent our time cooking, sitting by the fire and talking, riding around the mountains and seeing the sights and enjoying a 6 hour float down the river on innertubes. Other than a really good sunburn I had a fantastic, incredibly relaxing time. I can’t wait to go back there again.
Did I tell you how much I love summer time? What did you do? What do you have planned this week? I hope you have fun!
