The flip house is done, the owner closes on Thursday and the deck job should be completed today or tomorrow depending on the weather. Woohoo!! I’m finally getting caught up. I’m going to work hard in the future to only work on one job at a time. I’m really looking forward to getting back to normal. Well, my normal anyway.
Another exciting night of pool league Tuesday night. We faced the team who had previously beat us 12 points to 2 the last time we played them. Our team’s goal was to get 5 points this time and four matches in, the score was 4 to 7. For the last match they “threw” a five handicap player and I was the only one left of that handicap. Normally, I am the player who plays a lot of defensive shots and wins by making it difficult for my opponent. Well, for the first three matches I faced an opponent who was doing this to me and he was beating me 2 to 1. So I started playing more strategically, focused on positioning my balls first and not leaving him anything and it worked. It was a long match with a lot of exciting moments but I finally beat him 4 games to 3 games giving us 2 more team points for a total of 6. We were happy with this showing and how the team is coming along.
My friend Chris has helped me over the past several years with the golf tournament I host so when he asked me to help him with his, I couldn’t say no even though it was two hours away. My friends Scott, Carl and David joined me and we made the drive to Victoria early Saturday morning and had a fantastic time. It was a really quaint country course and there were some really good people there. The team behind us was really having a good time and they offered me some “eagle juice” and I joined them for a few shots. Well, having only had breakfast early that morning, it being 90* out and me being a lightweight, I was feeling no pain. LOL Maybe I had a little too much fun.
Yesterday evening we capped off the week with a family style dinner with friends at Tanglewood Ordinary. If you like family style dining, traditional southern food and historic homes, I highly recommend this place. It’s better if you go with friends.
How was your week? What do you have planned this week? Are you enjoying life and taking care of yourself? Get out there and have some fun, it will be August next week and summer will be over before you know it.
