The beginning of last week was mostly occupied taking care of my father and finishing up a job helping a friend with some repairs at her home.
On Tuesday though I did attend a WAM meeting and glad that I did. Every single time I attend one of our meetings I leave with at least one impactful takeaway. I also enjoy watching members grow and achieve successes.
Wednesday evening was spent with the Marines for Bullets, BBQ and Beer and this one was a great one. Three Marines attended for the first time, one who is really in a dark place and needed that camaraderie and attention that I think he could only get from his brothers in arms. If you know a Marine, introduce me to them.
Thursday morning I set out early with friends to Myrtle Beach to catch up on that golfing I’ve been missing. Our first stop was a course about 45 minutes before you get to Myrtle Beach and it turned out to be a good course. I wasn’t prepared for the lower temperatures and high winds though. I caught a nice cold from this one. That evening was capped off with a visit to Captain Georges seafood buffet. Friday morning we played a popular course, about froze too death and then played a second round a neat little course in Murrells Inlet. We went ahead and ate down there and then came back to the resort and enjoyed some cocktails in the hot tub. Saturday we got washed out so we focused on eating and shopping. We spent quite a while in the PGA Superstore and Simply Southern Smokehouse. It was still pretty bad Sunday morning so we headed out and found a deal at a golf course in Rocky Mount North Carolina. We were beyond surprised at how nice of a course this one turned out to be.
This week includes both the Marine Corps Birthday and Veterans Day. I’ll be golfing with Marine’s for our birthday and taking advantage of free food on Veterans Day.
Hope you have a good week.
