I never dreamed I could be this busy without working, I am so grateful to have taken the path I have. I was joking with my friend Joe yesterday about dying from having too much fun. What a way to go, right? Lol
Dad is finally becoming acclimated to his new apartment so our time together is being filled more with reminiscing and general conversation instead of just worrying about everything, I am extremely thankful for that. We had a couple visits to the Waffle House, hit the Cracker Barrel, went to the grocery store, cleaned his apartment and did his laundry together and enjoyed a Veteran VIP breakfast together at Mission BBQ.
Bullets, BBQ and Beer with the Marines Wednesday night was a blast. Rodney brought some new toys, Andy was feeling better and was able to shoot and we had three Marines join us for their first time. On Saturday I was able to attend the funeral of 94 year old Marine Jerald Evans at Hollywood cemetery and watch the league chaplain and honor guard do their part in the ceremony. I love my fellow Marines.
The weather was fantastic and I was able to get out on Thursday with my brother-in-law and the league chaplain at Brookwoods and then played again on Friday with my brother and his friends at Brickshire. I’ll be playing again today with the Marines on Ft Eustis. I hope we have plenty more opportunities like this throughout this winter.
Met Thursday evening with a lady looking to open a new restaurant. She has such a cool idea and I’m really excited to be able to be a part of it. I still get so excited about helping others to figure out their success and getting them on the path to achieving it.
I capped off the week sitting fireside with my friend Chance, enjoying a cigar and just talking. This was the fourth time in like two weeks that I spent an evening sitting fireside at different peoples homes. I don’t know if there is more of this going on now or if it’s just coincidence but I’m really enjoying it.
Friday I’ll be heading back to Iowa to see Mom and catch up with some old friends there. Hopefully, their warm spell will continue throughout my visit.
Anyway, I hope you have a great week. If we haven’t spoke in person in a while, text or call me and let’s change that!
