Work work and more work. In the past week I spent the majority of three days under a house relocating a washing machine, dryer and hot water heater and another three days, the three hottest I could have picked, on the roof of another. Isn’t retirement grand? lol
When I’m not sore and tired and I am enjoying all that I am learning and can’t wait to finally be doing it all on my own house.
I did still make it to golf league Wednesday evening but after carrying all of the shingles up that ladder and trying to walk and work on that roof I wasn’t really in the best of shape for golfing.
Michele got home on Thursday just in time to take me out for a nice dinner to celebrate my birthday. We went to our favorite Mexican restaurant, Potros and in addition to great food and awesome margaritas we got lucky and the mariachi band was there. I really enjoyed that.
My mom hooked me up with clothes, Michele got some new golf shoes, a starbucks card from my aunt and my brother surprised me with a brand new driver! Definitely a great birthday.
By the time I got home yesterday evening I was pooped. I took a shower, threw some shorts on and headed out to dinner with Michele. It wasn’t until I got out of the car at the restaurant that I realized that I had slipped my feet into my slippers instead of my sketchers. lol I don’t know if anyone even noticed but I sure felt embarrassed and of course Michele isn’t going to let me forget it.
I’m really looking forward to finishing up this house this week so I can get to work helping my buddy on his house. He and his wife have been waiting for me for months now.
Also this week I am looking forward to seeing my father, dinner with WRBA, attending a WAM meeting, golf league, dinner and a movie with Michele and I might even catch the rodeo Friday night at Meadow Event Park and swinging by the cruise in at Sportsman Bar & Grill on Sunday.
What’s your week looking like? Hope it’s a great one.
