It’s so hard to watch people working so hard just to be working even harder.
What do I mean by that? For years now I have been watching people, very good people, who work very hard to get ahead. The problem is that most of them have to work even harder year after year just to keep up instead of getting ahead.
Why is that? What I see the majority of the time is that everyone is simply competing to do the same thing, offer the same products and services, etc. and with more and more people competing for slimmer and slimmer margins it just becomes harder and harder.
I told a client recently, “you can’t do it better”. She didn’t like hearing it but we looked at what she was doing and how many were also doing the same thing and how many had been doing it for much longer. She is pretty awesome and a hard worker but those are pretty slim odds.
So I challenged her. The easiest way to move to the top of the list is to be the only one doing it the way you’re doing it, well the new way we are working on now.
It’s amazing to me how easy it is for people to do the things everyone else is doing even though everyone else is not achieving the goals they want to, yet how difficult it is for people to try something different. When I ask them how long they are going to continue working as hard as they are, they normally tell me something like, “until I die”. When I then offer them alternatives which could lead them on a path of working less and less and making more and more I hear responses like, “well, I don’t know”.
I’m looking to connect with people who are ready to get out of that rat race of working harder and harder and want to work on ways to work less and less and make more and more. I want to work with people who are ready to conquer their fears, make some big goals and achieve them! Do you know anyone like that?
