Multiple times I thought I had found great careers only to be reminded that I was just an employee and that my fate was in someone else’s hands. I always worked hard but it was benefitting my boss more than myself. I wanted to build something of my own. Even though there was a lot at risk, I wanted the opportunity to do more.
For ten years I worked even harder, was making less and was seriously questioning my decision. In 2009 I hired a business coach and helped me turn everything around. Finally, I was on a path to work less, make more and create the future I wanted.
Are you on the path you want to be? If not, I encourage you to find help. Of course one option is WAM! Sitting at the table with others who are, or have been, in similar situations is one. There are many options out there though. If the first one doesn’t work, find another.
Do it sooner, rather than later, before you end up spending anymore time just working hard and not really getting anywhere. Are you ready? If you want to attend a WAM! meeting there is one tomorrow night at 5:30pm and Thursday at 9:00am and I would be more than happy to reserve a spot for you (there is a maximum of eight people per meeting).
The next question is, what are you going to do with all of that extra time?
