How are these unusual times affecting you? It has surely made for some changes on my end. My first love is people and one of the things I enjoy the most in life is meeting, bonding, shaking hands and hugging people. When this is all over, you guys better watch out, I’m going to be giving out a lot of hugs!
Because I feel more comfortable in person I was apprehensive about online meetings but have quickly learned that with the new technology allowing me to actually see people during these meetings, it’s much better than I thought it would be. I am grateful that we have this opportunity right now. If you are feeling alone, or for any reason at all, let’s set up an online meeting.
My biggest new challenge; staying focused while working from home. I’m quickly figuring out new hacks to help me with this, one of which is a lot more exercise. When I am becoming distracted I take a break and exercise it really gets me back on track. Are you working from home and struggling? What are you doing to help?
On the positive side, I have been getting outside a lot more, enjoying the river, parks, etc. all while trying to be socially responsible as well. It’s been refreshing to see so many people enjoying the outdoors, taking the kids out, etc. Friday night Michele and I got together with another couple and enjoyed a little cookout with just the four us and discovered a great new activity. We sat for hours using their google version of Alexa to listen to songs from our past. Try it, you have no idea how many songs and bands you have forgotten about and how much fun it can be sitting with friends laughing and singing.
This week I am looking forward to golfing at Kingsmill Thursday. The golf courses seem to be a good way to get out a little bit and still be socially responsible. The courses have removed everything on the course that people commonly touch. They have removed rakes from the bunkers, water from the ball washers, on course coolers and directed us to leave the flag stick in the hole. Fresh air, exercise and bonding!
Another new adventure came with eating out. Michele and I normally keep pretty crazy schedules and eat out the majority of the time. With the current situation at hand, I actually went to the grocery store and started cooking again. It’s been a while, but I still got it 🙂 For our eating out we are choosing to take advantage of the carry out options and are focusing on supporting our smaller, privately owned restaurants. Nothing against the big boys, I know they are struggling too, but as in my business, I’m all about helping the little guy.
One more new discovery on the list this week, I touch my face too much! I’ve had to laugh at myself and how hard it is for me not to touch my face. I mean seriously, I must have been doing it in some manner multiple times a minute. If you catch me doing it, feel free to point it out, I like the accountability.
I hope you are all doing well and able to find something positive in all of this. Have a great week and talk to you soon.
