When this question was presented to me in 2009 when I started my landscaping business I answered with a rather lengthy description of the several landscaping services that our business offered.
This question was presented to me by a business coach and my answer wasn’t received very well at all. It was actually quite a bit of a challenge for this coach to get me to understand that what I did for my clients was completely different.
I helped my clients by eliminating the stress of taking care of their landscaping, giving them more time with their families and I made sure that their properties were appealing to their guests and neighbors.
When this finally sank in, it changed how I presented and marketed my business. I realized who my target clients were, what they wanted to hear, what their desires were and more. I learned how to make them satisfied clients and how to find more of them.
Do you know what you are doing for your clients? Do you know what their pain points are or what problem you are really solving for them? If you don’t, you may greatly benefit from some honest feedback from some trusted peers. If you don’t have those peers readily available to help you with this, then ask to attend one of our WAM! meetings soon.
