Well hey there, it’s been a while.
First, the house is done and sold! Overall, I am pleased with how things went. Took longer than I expected and I ended up having to do more of the work than I expected but I like doing that kind of work, I learned a lot more and it worked out to be a good deal.
My son’s wedding was a huge success! His wife Katie was absolutely beautiful, my son-in law married them, the wedding party included many of my children and grandchildren and the weather cooperated. So glad that I was able to be there.
As for the hike, well there won’t be a thru-hike this year. I will be making several shorter hikes and for now, not on the Appalachian trail. I want to avoid the trail in hopes that I may try again next year and I don’t want to repeat any more sections than I already will be. Taking four and half consecutive months off just is more difficult than I thought.
One of the other unexpected trips is going to happen at the end of July. The folks who purchased my father’s airplane have completed the restoration and it is going to be featured at the Oshkosh Wisconsin air show. Dad and I are going to take a road trip so he can see it in person. I can’t wait to see him reunited with his “baby”.
Other than that, I’m back to golfing, shooting, fishing, hiking, camping and trying to enjoy life as much as I can, if you want to join me just hit me up.
Have a great week!
