Has the rain stopped yet? What a wet one we had here last week in Richmond. I haven’t been golfing in a week and I missed two Team Adrenaline sessions in a row. In addition to the rain I had to spend even more time helping my father in preparation for cataract surgeries the next two weeks. Having two surgeries in two weeks is challenging enough without having to do it with a dementia patient during a pandemic! I’m thankful again though, that my brother and I are both successfully self employed and able to help my dad like we are. With all that, I made adjustments and I still had an amazing week.
My new covered porch quickly proved it’s worthiness, where I was able to schedule meetings outside with cigars with two different friends in business and I caught a gap in the storms and had my own private outdoor exercise class. Restaurants have opened back up so I took a friend out to lunch for her birthday and scheduled an old fashioned one on one with another. I wanted to get together with people so bad that I even went to a networking event last week. Yep, they had an in person networking event and it was great to see people again, shake hands, hug and visit.
My overnight kayaking trip on the James River was cancelled due to high waters so we changed it to a pond kayak fishing and camping trip on a friend’s private land just outside of Louisa. It rained there too but we were determined not to let it stop us so we fished in the middle of the storm. I felt like a kid stomping in the puddles. The rain stopped and we stayed up half the night visiting and cooking over the fire. At dusk we were up, back on the water and followed up with target shooting, hiking and exploring the land.
How do you adjust, take care of yourself and still have fun even with outside interferences? If you don’t, or if you don’t know the answers let’s work on that. Find someone to help you with it.
A big part of what helps me stay on track are the WAM! meetings that I attend. Having a safe place to share my concerns, my struggles and my thoughts in general and get the feedback from people who think like I do is invaluable. Too often I share with people who just don’t get it and their feedback only makes my situation worse. If you’re an entrepreneur and need a safe place to find support, help with accountability, get some good feedback or find the education you need don’t hesitate to reach out to me and let me get you set up to attend one of our meetings.
This week I’m looking forward to golfing and getting ready for next week’s outing with Swinging For Success, more WAM! Meetings, more exercise, more connecting with friends, more growth and more fun. I really hope you have a great week as well.
