I was having this conversation recently and just like with previous conversations similar to this, I hear many talking about college and the types of jobs they would have. While that may work for many, it sounds like too many years of schooling and work to me.
The first one that comes to my mind would be construction. If I could go back in time, starting at age 14, I would start taking on part time work helping those in the construction industry. I would still join the Marine Corps but would look for a construction related position while doing so. Upon leaving the Corps I would work every job I could in construction, learn everything I could and study real estate and business on the side. By age 30 I would have myself prepared to open my own business and by age 40 that business would be in a position in which I would barely have to work anymore and would be able to start focusing even harder on enjoying life. Does this sound like a good plan to you or does it sound unrealistic?
I’m assuming the entrepreneurs reading this will have a similar story and that the 9 to 5’ers will think this is a pipe dream. Write to me and let me know what you think.
With what I know now, I can help most anyone that already has the work experience, open and build a self sufficient business in 10 years. Do you have experience and are ready to be semi retired in 10 years?
