Our newest WAM! member is a coach and is already helping me a lot.
The biggest thing I have learned from him is that I should be looking at myself as a business advisor and not a business coach.
I am very good at identifying problems, creating solutions and coming up with innovative ideas but I am not good at helping people to overcome the personal obstacles or deterrents that are stopping them from following through with the new items presented to them.
In a football analogy, I’m the guy that can watch the other teams, examine the ins and outs of our team and create the plays that we need to win but it takes a good coach to get the players to actually effectively run the plays. Make sense?
I wish we had more WAM! meetings. Every meeting I go to I get stuff like this and am able to continuously tweek and improve things.
Next week, I am going to try and have another WAM! Open House so more people have a chance to come see what we do and we can put together a couple more meetings.
