Helping my father was a little more of a task this past week than normal. Going through cataract surgeries is tough enough without the added complications of Covid-19 and dementia. Once again, I am thankful that my brother and his wife and myself are self employed and have the opportunity to help him.
On the personal side I was able to squeeze in two rounds of golf and am excited about how my golf game is coming around, I attended another session with Team Adrenaline and continue to improve physically, a family cookout, a very nice lunch with my daughter and grandchildren and had a very afternoon with a friend on my newly renovated back porch that I now refer to as my cigar lounge.
On the work side I still attended all three WAM! meetings and a month into our topic of discussion still found more insight on the subject in each one. My views on goal setting and how I will go about and help others set them has changed dramatically. I really enjoy everyone’s feedback. This month’s topic should be enlightening as well, “What do the 10% do that the 90% don’t?”
Also this week Michele and I finally booked a cruise. I can’t believe how long it’s been. This time we will be spending one night in San Juan Puerto Rico before boarding and visiting Aruba, Curacao, Bonaire, St. Lucia and St. Kitts. Not only did we get a great deal this one works out so that we will get 9 days of vacation with Michele only having to take five days off of work. This week is going to include a lot more time with dad as we go through his second cataract surgery and regime of eye drops, golf at The Manor in Farmville, Bullets, BBQ and Beer with my fellow Marines, and capping off the week celebrating July 4th in Iowa with my mother and family there.
How will you be spending your July 4th? I hope it includes some fun and time with family. I will enjoy seeing the barrage of Red, White and Blue!
