A hint of spring, a couple rounds of golf and a little trip to Florida and I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my back. I really really do not like winter.
I started the week having breakfast with dad, working outside and then attending the board meeting and dinner with the West Richmond Businessmen’s Association. Any men out there interested, be my guest next Monday night the 28th from 5:30 until 7:30pm at Mona Cigar Lounge in Short Pump during which time we are having an open social.
Tuesday started with a meeting at Waffle House with the commandant of the Marine Corps League, followed by more outside work ending with a fun night of pool league. I had a rematch with the guy I played the first night of league. Our first match was a two and half hour battle, this time I beat him in less than two hours!
Wednesday was kicked off with another breakfast with dad, more outdoor work and my first evening of golf league. This is my first time playing in a league and I get to do so with my brother as my partner. We did great in this first practice round.
Thursday morning I headed down to Florida, made a quick stop in Ocala and then headed over to Daytona Beach for some fun. I spent most of the evening shooting pool and making new friends. I found a great breakfast spot the next morning and then just did the tourist thing exploring before heading back home that night.
Saturday morning Michele and I took dad to breakfast before I headed out to play golf with Carl. After that Michele and enjoyed dinner at Tanglewood Ordinary which I highly recommend! That was the first time I had ever been there and I plan on going back often. Our night was capped off with a movie.
I took dad to breakfast Sunday morning at his favorite place in New Kent so the ladies there could see him. They still remembered him and what he ordered, he enjoyed that. He then hung out with me while I looked at a potential flip house. Wish me luck, it’s been hard to find any houses not on the market or going to auction and this one is in Highland Springs which works great for me logistically.
Sunday afternoon I got a surprise visit from my Son and his wife who came into town to see Lion King. We hung out for a while and then Michele and I went out to dinner and relaxed at home.
Another successful week in the books! I so appreciate having the freedom that I have to spend the time I can with the people I love and getting to do the things I do. If time was money, I am filthy rich.
I hope you have a fantastic week!
