The most successful people I know have failed more times than they have succeeded and they make no excuses for their failures. They take responsibility, they learn from their mistakes and they try again.
To the contrary, I have met even more people who aren’t winning and they seem to have an excuse for everything.
I have been working to not use excuses for my shortcomings. I practice not saying “I don’t have time” and instead realize that “I didn’t make the time”.
Even when I try to convince myself that things went wrong due to circumstances out of my control, looking deeper, I can still find ways I could have done things differently and therefore realize that it was due to my choices.
This realization helps me. Excuses allow me to keep repeating the same mistakes. Taking responsibility for my own choices and actions allow me to learn, recover and improve.
So I ask you, who’s fault was it?
