A lot of new discussions in our meeting last week, most of course beginning with how we are dealing with the coronavirus pandemic.
However, the many of them circling back to a subject we have discussed before and that is, Strategic Partners. What does a strategic partner look like to you?
When I started in business my biggest focus was on finding new clients. This didn’t change for a long time. For me, the change began when I realized that the cycle I was in would never change. Finding a client was a transactional occurence that left me in need of finding another one.
I began developing relationships with others in my industry as well as people in parallel industries and then began to figure out ways to have these people send me referrals. The big difference, these people continued to give me referrals and I didn’t have to keep chasing them to do it. After a while, the only efforts I had to put into new client acquisition was minimal time nurturing my strategic partnerships.
