Just when you thought it couldn’t get any more boring I can now cover my entire week in one paragraph. Had a great lunch with Shelby, an awesome visit with my daughter Lorna, I visited my dad, got in one good trip to the gym, saw the best feel good movie I have seen in years with Michele and, drum roll, worked on the house.
Having never refinished hardwood floors before I was definitely scared of tackling that last week, especially, all by myself. I rented the equipment from Home Depot and just dove in. To make it even more “exciting” my vision once again was different than anyone else could see or had experience in. In the end, they came out almost exactly as I had envisioned and I think they are going to be one of the big selling points for this house.
Living this new boring lifestyle gives me a lot more sit down time in the evenings and a lot more time to process my thoughts. Luckily for all you, I’m not sharing them on social media like I used to. Lol
I wonder if anyone else processes things like I do. I saw a post on Facebook last night before going to sleep from a younger friend of mine going on and on about how much harder it is to live right now because of the pay being too low and rent being too high. This morning, I spent probably about twenty minutes comparing income and rental rates in 1985 to now and yep, you guessed it, they haven’t changed much. I ended this little session with the writing of a lengthy long winded post that would help educate these young spoiled friends of mine, I reread it a few times, and then…………….. I deleted it and started working on this newsletter.
I have come to the conclusion that we have unfortunately succeeded at making it easier for the next generation. Read that again. So wouldn’t it make sense that the only way we are going to fix it now is to start making it harder. Since I can’t share it on social media anymore I welcome you to call me and talk about it.
I’m looking forward to this week. Michele has a few evenings off, I’m attending a WAM meeting tomorrow morning, starting golf league again on Wednesday and getting even closer to finishing this house. What do you have to look forward to this week?
